One thing that I have learned from life is that you never know what it might throw at you, so you should always be ready to make life changes or adjustments. I had a defining moment at work last week, when I realize that it’s time for me to retire my combat boots to focus on taking care of my daughter and do what I love. The next day I submitted a modification request to shift my retirement date up, which would allow me to leave the military six months earlier than planned. If approved (which I don’t see why it wouldn’t since I have already completed 22 years of military service), I will be flying back to the states this summer to become a legit civilian, with a hint of veteran.
For some people in my position this would be a time of pure panic, but I am so grateful for the subtle push from God, to finally accept that its time to close this chapter in my life. As much as I enjoyed my time in the military, I feel like a caged up bird ready to fly, and I can no longer wait for Uncle Sam to release me.
All in all this was a great month financially, for I paid off my personal loan. YAH BABY…..another zero balance!!
